La Cage Aux Folles
Directed by Jeffrey Ellis
January 17 - February 2, 2020
After twenty years of un-wedded bliss Georges and Albin, two men partnered for better-or-worse get a bit of both when Georges' son (fathered during a one-night fling) announces his impending marriage to the daughter of a bigoted, right-wing politician. Further complicating the situation is the 'family business': Albin and Georges run a drag nightclub in St. Tropez, where Albin is the "star" performer 'Zaza'. Georges reluctantly agrees to masquerade as "normal" when he meets the family of the bride-to-be. But Albin has other plans, with hilarious results.

A Raisin in the Sun (Postponed into our 71st Season)
Directed by Clay Hillwig
Postponed until our 71st Season. Dates to be released this summer.
Set on Chicago’s South Side, the plot revolves around the divergent dreams and conflicts within three generations of the Younger family: son Walter Lee, his wife Ruth, his sister Beneatha, his son Travis, and matriarch Lena. When her deceased husband’s insurance money comes through, Mama Lena dreams of moving to a new home and a better neighborhood in Chicago. Walter Lee, a chauffeur, has other plans: buying a liquor store and being his own man. Beneatha dreams of medical school. The tensions and prejudice they face form this seminal American drama. The Younger family’s heroic struggle to retain dignity in a harsh and changing world is a searing and timeless document of hope and inspiration.
Oliver! (This Production Has Been Canceled)
After detailed consideration of the current COVID-19 epidemic, the Circle Players Board of Directors has decided to postpone our production of "A Raisin In The Sun" until June 4-14, 2020, and cancel our production of "Oliver!" that would have taken place at the Looby Theatre during that same time period.
This decision was not made lightly. Our first and foremost concern is the health, safety and well-being of our patrons, performers, production teams, volunteers and the community. If you are a Season Ticket holder or have purchased an individual ticket to either A Raisin In The Sun or Oliver!, our volunteer box office will be contacting you directly via email regarding your tickets.
During this difficult and uncertain time, we are thankful to be a part of the Nashville arts community with all of you - our friends, colleagues and patrons.
We wish you continued health and look forward to seeing you back at the Looby Theatre in June.
